animated GIFs and alpha channel

Hello list,

I have some animated GIFs that display with transparency in a browser
or in Graphicconverter, but refuse to show any alpha in jitter.

I tried converting with Quicktime to animated or no compression, both
with highest quality and color settings, as well as PNG-sequence, but
non of these have an alpha channel in jitter. Only a PNG saved from
Graphicconverter shows up with correct alpha, but I can only export a
single frame.

Anyone knows how I could (batch-)convert files like this to use them
with jitter? Possibly free and on OS X?

thanks, g.

Jitter 1.5.2, QT 7.0.4

... apparently an application called jitter can do this. D'oh! Didn't
realize only the outer whites were really 255 255 255 ...

Hi Georg,

If you'd like some more sprite rips (several hundred) in GIF form and
as Quicktime movies with alpha, see here:

it took me a long time batch processing them in After Effects but it
was worth it. :)
