[announce] Theater Max

Hi all,

After nearly five (on and off) years of "development", I am pleased to announce the release of Theater Max! Theater Max is a collection of abstractions for Max/MSP specifically for real-time control of sound. For those that are a bit more familiar with my work, this is essentially the software behind most of my professional theater sound design work. Tired of always building the software from scratch for each show, over the past year I, along with Jonathan Snipes, started developing a set of tools that we could use to quickly "assemble" a show. So what we are affectionately calling Theater Max is really a toolbox of patches for control of sound in a performance environment, and as you may soon discover for yourself, its usefulness is certainly not limited to theater!

This software is offered free and open source (i.e. patches versus compiled applications), but not without conditions...i.e. make sure you read the licensing agreement before you download. For more information, visit our handy Theater Max website:

Special thanks to Jonathan Snipes who played a major role in the development of Theater Max. I hope you find these tools useful, and certainly hope that you will help further the development of these tools. Your feedback and contributions are always welcome!

All the best,
David

Hi David,

Thanks for posting this. As I ocassionally find myself in the position to use such a collection and flushed with anticipation, I tried to take a look, but alas had no success getting through to the site on your link. (Sat 08 15:27 AEST)

OK. It seems to be up now so apologies for the premature alarmism (is that a word?).

It works for me (and we've had quite a few hits since the announcement). Try again?

Sorry you are having problems!! Let me know if you still don't have any success.

Thanks,
David
