Announcing: Fauxmo, a Max-based Ensoniq Fizmo editor/librarian

Happy to announce the availability of my latest reverse-engineering folly – this time tackling the Ensoniq Fizmo synthesizer. Its SysEx and NRPN specs were never published, and to make matters worse, its SysEx is obfuscated with this crazy Ensoniq 5-to-4 byte conversion routine. It is by far the most complex bit of SysEx I’ve ever encountered. And Max was the perfect tool to let me navigate it all! More info about the story here: https://bit.ly/2mWPEGn

Dan, I can't tell you how excited I am about this and will purchase in the coming days. One Q: Didn't I see people being able to edit transwaves somewhere? Was that you?
Great! People seem to be happy with it so far :-) But, nope, not me on transwave editing.
The transwaves in the Fizmo are in ROM, so no way to edit those sadly (unless someone reverse engineers that and can figure out a way to substitute custom ones in there). There *are* software tools out there for use of Transwaves in the Ensoniq samplers, e.g. the aging Tranzilon https://avg.home.xs4all.nl/tranzilon/info.html , and then more powerfully (but also more complex) Audio-Term https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=195396 . I believe there may be others too, but I haven't kept up. There's a Facebook Transwave group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/552524268147339
Whoa! Audioterm looks super cool. Thanks for the heads up.
