Announcing SIGN/e, a free set of Max for Live devices for graphic score creation
Hi everyone! Over the past year I've been working together with several researchers at the Université de Montréal on developing SIGN/e, a set of Max for Live devices that facilitate the composition of interactive graphic scores directly in Live. We've just released version 1.0.0. If it's of interest, please give it a try. The devices are open source, and I welcome issue reports and feature requests via the GitHub issue tracker. Hope you like it!
SIGN/e • SYMBOL-BASED INTERFACE FOR GRAPHIC NOTATION/EDITION
Visual editing plugin (AMXD) to read & write graphic scores directly in Ableton Live. Import, modify, and animate PNG images as instructions for live performers. SIGN/e lets you push beyond the limitations of conventional notation software to create scores that bridge the gap between your Ableton Live session and live performance.
Programmed by Evan Montpellier for Laboratoire formes • ondes at the Digital Music unit of Université de Montréal.

cool - i will definitely enter relations with this - vibes and visuals of Anestis Logothetis come to mind
Fantastic! I'd love to hear if you find it useful. I wasn't aware of Logothetis, thanks for bringing him up! The work that I personally kept coming back to was Cornelius Cardew's Treatise.
In general, though, SIGN/e is meant to be stylistically open-ended, and so it's very easy to add your own graphic elements - just drop image files into a folder inside the symbols subfolder (which already exists in the release zip file) and the device will find them.
