Anyone know of a MIDI player object for Max that supports format 1 files?

I'm in urgent need of a reliable Max object that can read and play MIDI files that use seperate tracks. Free or paid. I need to be able to receive (or demultiplex) the data on each track seperately in real time. It should not be dependent on Java so ideally it should be an external that has been compiled to native code.
(no, I can't convert to format 0, there are more than 16 tracks in the files)
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks, D

does it not work for this?
it's a little bit to get set up but it should do the trick...

      Hmmm, never noticed [detonate] before.
Certainly the name would not have caused me to even think of looking at it as a possible MIDI object. I will study it.
Thank you, I appreciate your responding.

Ouch --- after a quick read, I'm now wondering if someone has already put together a simple MIDI player using detonate that I could use as a starting point.

For a tutorial on detonate, see the original Max/MSP Tutorial 44, which you can find online under the heading Max/MSP 4.6 - Max/MSP documentation only.

Detonate only handles notes. What about the other midi parameters?
