Anyone using Lemur from Jazzmutant???
Hello everyone!
I just got a Lemur and I need somebody to help me out sorting this mess out! PLEASE : )
?
Vague request is vague.
I know but I don't know how else to formulate it, I'm trying to make them comunicate and understand how they work together... Do you own a lemur?
Thanks
I do. You need to go to the manual first.
Then check out some of the downloads they have available including the Max externals and their Lemur Examples that contain some Max patches made to demonstrate how to get the Lemur and Max talking to each other.
Thanks but i did have those in the DVD that came with the lemur, I check the manual but still no "How to setup lemur in Max" section to enlight me... Is there any specific step by step guide!?
I know I might sound lazy or dumb(Ahahah), but it's the first time I'm having issues with a peace of gear I can't seems to understand
Ok I can be more detailed now, I opened the example of the dvd called "CombFilter" i successfully connected my Lemur to the Jazzeditor, but I can't get Max and the lemure to comunicate. What am I doing wrong?!
Ps I'm using Max5 and the Lemur Os is 2.0.3
the lemur uses OSC right? Did you setup the right port? Don't you get any data via [udpreceive] ?
Did you say you wanted to buy my lemur? I give you a good price.
In answer to your question, can you describe any of your problems on the max side? With the CombFilter interface running on the Lemur, can you does this patch:
print anything in the max window when you manipulate the controls? It's probably best to close the JazzEditor before you open Max. I've had better luck with udpreceive than the objects that come with the Lemur.
No nothing gets printed with your patch MZED. (you probably misunderstood me, I already own one, but thanks)
I've set the IP and the port 8000 but nothing... Do I have to install anything else?!
I don't have my Lemur with me, so I'm doing this from memory.
1) Get your Lemur working with the Jazz Editor. You've done this, yes? Is the Lemur configured to send OSC on port 8000? (I believe that is the default)
2) Close the Jazz Editor
3) Open Max. Open the patch with udpreceive and print.
4) Manipulate a UI element on the Lemur. Do you see anything in the Max window? Errors? Data?
I realize I've add nothing new here. If the Lemur works with the JazzEditor, then the hardware is all configured properly. It should work with Max, udpreceive. The only other things I can think of are if the port number is not 8000, or some other application is fighting Max for that port.
The only thing that gets printed is "binding to port 8000"
On the Lenur the OSC Target 0 is IP number and port 8000... it's driving me crazy!!
Can it be a firewall problem?!
I'm out of ideas. I remember this being a little difficult, but it's been a long time since I went through it. I think a firewall problem would have caused problems in the JazzEditor, too. Restart everything. Have a beer.
I had a couple already, thanks anyway!
