APC Step-Sequencer Woes...
So the latest max4live in Ableton has a patch that has been created for it by Mark Egloff, and it turns an APC-20 or 40 into a fully loaded step sequencer.
I am, however, having some problems getting it loaded.
I installed the package once, and fiddles about with some settings deep in the max and now my apc will no longer recognise the patch and convert into step sequencer mode. If I delete the package, and remove all apc step sequencer related files, then re-install, upon loading ableton tells me "package already installed" and so I face the same recognition problems between the apc-20 and the patch.
So what i want to know is where does ableton store its max4live info, as well as its package installation info?
Hopefully if i locate this and delete the appropriate files I can get a fresh install of the apc step sequencer to work?
Any help would be amazing!
Reuben
Did you ask over at the Ableton M4L forums? Mark usually responds to posts about his patches pretty quick.
Hi Reuben
To properly uninstall the APC Step Sequencer go to Preferences > Library, then search for the "APC Step Sequencer by Mark Egloff" Live Pack and press uninstall. After that, you should be able to reinstall the Live-Pack.
However, I recently updated the APC Step Sequencer to V1.1: http://www.maxforlive.com/library/device.php?id=877
Unless you were already working with that version, you can just download and install it without having to uninstall v.1.0.
Finally, check out the
APC Step Sequencer: http://www.maxforlive.com/library/device.php?id=877
and the Beat Indexer from my friend Shane Hazleton Akai Professional: http://www.maxforlive.com/library/device.php?id=880
Cheers,
Mark
I was able to install this.
Great program. Made me buy Max actually.
I have an akai apc key 25. It gives me live.object errors accross the board mainly: 'ChanStripComponent' object has no attribute 'set_prehear_volume_control'
Please help.
