Apple Watch + Max(?)
I know this is quite early days as the watch isn't even out yet, and from my understanding the SDK is still quite limited (no access to force feedback or sensors), but what are people's thoughts on the Apple Watch in a musical/performance situation?
I'm personally quite excited about the haptic feedback capabilities, as you can set up all sorts of interesting cues/prompts this way. Time will tell (pun?) if the latency on it is tight enough and/or if it can get synced to other nearby Watches, as it would only be useful in that kind of context.
Then there's the onboard sensors. I couldn't find online if it has an accelerometer built in, but I would imagine it does as it can count your steps, and tell when you raise your wrist, so that would be pretty useful information there. Particularly since it's so sleek/small (I can picture wearing it while playing drums/guitar/piano/etc... very comfortably). And the the biometric/pulse data too.
