Async 4Track Looper for Move

hiya, wanted to share my take on a four-track looper for Move. this one lives in the asynchronous/ambient looping space

the general idea is that there are four tracks, each capable of variable speed recording, playback, and overdubbing. while they share a base rate, each row of Move pads offers different rate multipliers ranging from 0.5x to 2x speed, with intermediary positions that transpose by fifths or octaves. there's also a global half-speed control, while each track can also be reversed by pressing the second pad from the left

obvs this is a tape-inspired looper, so the varispeed recording, fixed buffer lengths, and the included "warble" parameter get you in that analog-ish space. obvs this is a digital looper tho and i personally enjoy some amount of artifacts and digital characteristics, so you'll notice some amount of aliasing at lower rates + a redux parameter applies bit reduction on signals before they hit the recording buffer (this is sorta sonically-inspired by the Ciat-Lonbarde Cocoquantus)

a few other things to mentions:

  • select loops with the Move track buttons on the left to see the looper position on the step buttons

  • you can also re-cut and "sequence" the loop. press the record button on a selected track, and you can live record a cut sequence with the step buttons

  • the default configuration of the device routes the external inputs to all channels of the looper, but if you look at the device in the Web Interface graph you'll see there are individual inputs for each channel. i haven't tried this on Move itself, but you could theoretically mix and match live input with generative instruments, samples, etc.

please note that input gain defaults to effectively off so that the mic/speaker don't blow up with feedback if you don't have anything plugged in :)

thanks for checking this out! i'm probably still going to make some tweaks and updates to this, but i wanted to get it out there and let folks have some fun
