Is there some hidden way of connecting an [attrui] to an object inside a nested subpatcher?

Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.

For example, say I want to get at the attributes of the [swatch] and [groove~] within the subpatcher here - any way to do this using attrui?

Ideally whatever the solution is would be able to work with [poly~] too. I'm guessing the answer is a resounding 'no' and that I've just gotta build umenus for all the attributes I want to modify. :/

Nope. attrui has to be connected directly to the object you want to inspect
