AU DLS synth issue within Max

I have problems on channel 1. Other channels seem to work fine.

I too have noticed problems with the AU DSL synth. For me it works fine everywhere (Max included) under the user I installed Max (my work only user) but on the other user account the DSL synth does not work in Max 4.6.3 or 5.0.1. I also tried deleting the midi@augraph.txt from the problem user's preference folders but this made no difference. I am on OSX 10.5.2. I just noticed this so am not sure when it first surfaced for me.

Hi !

Digging out this 1-year old topic...
I have the same symptoms. I can't get any note to sound from Max to AU Synth.
Other softwares can, config in MaxMSP looks ok but no note comes out of the MIDItester patch (or any other patch).
Does someone got the solution to this problem ?
Last time I had it, I had no time to find something but reinstalling Max !

More than 1 year ago, with other software and OS versions, I also had a silent AU synth. I trashed the midi@augraph.txt preference file and then it worked again.

I know it was mentioned, but always in a negative way, so I wanted to say it could work too. I know this may sound obvious, but are you sure the volume of the AU synth, i.e. controller 7, is not set to 0 ? I suppose it isn't as the synth work from oher hosts...

To check #7 controller is a very good idea I had not. But unfortunately, it did not change anything.

I sent a mail to support[at]cycling74[dot]com. Hopefully they'll have some solution.

Since 5.x, I've had to do that in order to get sound output using AU DLS. I seem to remember even needing in the past to restart Max after doing this, but I can't reproduce now. Simply decreasing vec sizes does the trick for me.
