audio routing with multiple apps?
i wonder if i can route multiple audio signals to different apps made in max msp..
jit.net.send is not a good solution i guess, for it can send only one signal... any suggestion?
well, if you plan on running one source signal into only app at once, then [gate~] will work.
otherwise use [route].

I'm not sure if I understood...
let's say I have application A and application B
A sends 6 audio signal to B, B processes the signals and the sends them back to A...
maybe make an example patch and if you can't get further then you post it?
othrwise i can ensure you it is a quite simple task, it is just late here now, and i'll go watch hellboy 2 now :)
(you basically just wire app 1 with 6 cables into a patcher with 6 inputs, that contains app 2. 6 outputs get teh signals back to app 1.

i can't make an example patch because we're talking of stand alone apps and not patches...
If you're on Mac OS X
yeah thank you for that, but i need an IN-max solution, no external softwares..
as I mentioned in the duplicate instance of this thread, you can use soundflower. Its an audio driver and available for download at cycling74.com.
While this may not run 'inside max', I find it to be a lot more discreet than jack osx. Just make sure every app you want to send sound to uses the soundflower driver.
as i said i was looking for an in-max solution.
soundflower isn't.
thanx anyway

But you said you wanted it for standalones, so you're *not* in Max.
AFAIK there is no inter-app audio support which can be baked into
standalones to allow them to stream audio between one another; Jack or
Soundflower is your best bet.

If you don't use standalones, but collectives which share the same Max
runtime, you can send audio with send~ and receive~.
By the way a standalone can load on top of its internal patch a
collective with its own windows. Just place some send~ receive~ pairs
with useful names in it like "MyGloriousCompany_bus_1" or alike...
At least in Max 4 it worked, didn't test it in Max 5 though...
