Audio unit plugin ends up as a folders in MacOS 11 and MacOS 12.
Hi,
I've tried installing my copy of the audio unit plugin VSDSX on MacOS 11 and MacOS 12 and I get some strange behaviour. The plugin ends up as a folder (with various contents) and not a file. The same thing happens with Arturia ARP 2600 and AppleAES3Audio, whereas Valhalla Supermassive and Expert Sleeper SilentWay works just fine, ending up as a single file. This does not happen on other MacOS systems I tested (10.10, 10.14 and 10.15).
These folder versions of the plugin can be read in Ableton Live but not in Max.
Any idea on how to solve this?
All the best
normally a broken apple link package should not make a difference. does it not work when you load it?
If I drag the Arturia (or the VSDSX) plugin into the Max window, or use the "plugins" side panel, it opens and kind of works with the plugins built in keyboard, although it does not receive MIDI in from Max for some reason.
If I use the "plug" message to the "vst~"-object, as I normally do, it just think it is a folder, and keep opening the next folder until there are no more folders.
I found a workaround. Listing the plugin names using "vstscan", I now can open it in the "vst~"-object. This work fine for the Arp plugin, although it seems like a cumbersome way to do it.
My new problem now is that it appears that the VSDSX-plugin looses all its MIDI mappings in Max (it works fine in Ableton), and without that there is no sound.
I'm not sure if this is a problem with Max, MacOS or the plugin.
