Automatic buffer cropping after recording ?

Hi everyone,

I've been busy for a while writing a voice processor patch,
i have a looping section, and was wondering whether its possible
to have a buffer crop itself automatically to the size of the recorded
amount of samples.
Or to acomplish the same automatic effect somehow.
Thanx in advance.

oops!! just found out how.

i've used a timer object to get the ms time ofthe recording, and
used that data to set the min and max points of the waveform object,
and its crop function.

Hi

I know this is old but can you tell me how your solution worked? I have the same problem and found this thread, but that doesn't fix my solution. Cropping waveform~ doesn't crop buffer~, and I want to write the cropped file... Did you find a solution for this?

Thanks
S

Is there (or has anyone made) an "Automatic Buffer Cropping" detecting incoming live recording, perhaps using peek~ etc? We want to crop unwanted silence in buffer~ made in record~ in realtime so it can be synced perfectly to rhythm when the sample gets looped....

The current solution is automatically cropping the buffer~ with the pre-determined amount assuming the potential silence at the beginning of the recording....
