Axis Ip camera into jitter

I've looked around a few old posts on this subject but have had no success in implementing it into my patch - largely due to my complete lack of network knowledge!

Hopefully there is a simple solution!

I'm trying to connect an AXIs 210 into my Jitter patch through the laptop network port - so i guess i need to receive the matrix on the local port? Not sure how to do this.

Any help?

Cheers,
Josh

If it helps - the camera claims to be MPEG 4 compatible, but it does not appear in the lsit of quicktime sources in qt.grab. How do i find out the IP address for the camera?

Josh

my experiences with the axis 210 camera and specially the axis support are very bad !!!

the camera has got an administration web interface like routers do
first you have to set the cameras webserver authorization to anonymous
then as far as i remember set the codec to mjpeg
you should be able to get the video stream via webbrowser
i found the filepath of the stream in the page source of the streaming page
and was able to open this with jit.qt.movie
but. on winxp the quality was very low
for windows axis offers an faulty capture driver
to use this you always have to open the driver settings and confirm the settings with an "ok" button so you cant access the camera automatically at start up ;-(
the axis support doesn't care
