I am working on a beat repeat / beat stuttering effect. I hear my friend with an MPC do this all day long and I am getting jealous so I started trying to make my own.

I don't know if this is the best way, but it's a start. You need Karma~ for this and some type of a buffer~ audio file for Karma~. Mine is called varioussynths2.aif. Also you need a global transport running as it's using Max tempo values.

I put my entire mix of whatever I am playing through this. You have a button to gate your mix and implement the beat repeat. Also you have a midi control knob to select the tempo, and a midi control knob to adjust the pitch.

After this effect it might be nice to have delay too. I added a Karplus type effect after this that sounds good too.

If anyone can suggest improvements I would love to hear them.
