im trying to find a way to optimize a patch that works already but that is not efficient at all - more the position matrix is big, more it takes (obviously time) to render.

I have a list of position with a number (length) of that list. I render cubes using jit.gl.multiple and want to draw the number (order) of cubes as corresponding to their coordinates position in that list. 

Rendering the cube is not complicated, but i struggled to find a way to render as the same time their numbers using jit.gl.text3d. Right now, the rendering is continuous with the world bang, but it makes problems with long list of position, and i doubt it's a correct way to do this for computer performance.

I would like to get a solution to render it at once like it's the case for the cubes, but i believe jit.gl.text3d is not supported by jit.gl.multiple? am i correct?

text3d is supported by gl.multiple but it requires the same text for every instance. so in your case I would use JS or poly~ to manage text3d instances with unique text for each instance, and thereby remove the non-automatic drawing and only update the text for each instance when needed.

thx rob... i kinda went to the same conclusion. I m going to explore js instancing of abstractions with one jit.gl.text3d inside for each piece of text, prefering to avoid poly~

 (from here), we have made this short solution to draw multiple jit.gl.text3d at the same time, using instancing of abstraction and an index used for the text. All credit for js code goes to 11olsen

The idea is to have an input list with coordinates used as dynamic arguments for the abstraction where jit.gl.text3d is, which will take the position from the list. (But it could also be an jit.anim.node of course.)

So the abstraction can obviously get more complex according to one need.

The results are much more solid than my intial patch that was banging at frame rate.
