I have a few bpatchers that need to be zoomed in or out so to align them neatly inside another larger patch.

I use zoom factor to align them as i like them, and this works great. However, when I zoom the actual monitor ( the upper patch window) with ctrl - + , the insides of these smaller bpatchers are not happy as their contents do not remain fixed in the position I set them. I've tried to scale the zoomfactor parameters to counter the issue but to no avail.

I also have the same problem here. It seems like having independant zoom factors for bpatchers and parent patchers does not work. When changing the parent patcher zoom factor, the bpatchers' zoom resets to 100%.
