Bug Report - bgcolor in bpatcher

Leafcutter John's icon

Just found a little graphics bug. Copy the following into max and lock then unlock the patcher.

Max Patch
Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.

The intended bgcolor colour ends up in the the object palette instead of the background of the bpatcher!

Using Max/MSP 4.5.6 Mac OSX 10.3.9

Is there a way to get bgcolor to work correctly in bpatcher?

best,

john.

It's not a bug, it's a feature ! Isn't the object palette lovely with
this flashy yellow-green ?

works well under 10.4.5 and same Max version too.

Best,

Julien.

the tip i found is to use only one bgcolor in the main patche.

it's even more strange than one may think actually. How did you got that colored objects ? I mean, If I add another cellblock for exemple to the patch you posted, it is not affected by the color change (same for any other object I may add) when having fun with that lock/unlock button. But, in editing mode, if I drag the bpatcher over the added objects then put it somewhere else, the color change apply to them. Then lock/unlock once more and thet're still not affected by the color change. Really strange. Disco indeed, but strange anyway.

Not sure it helps...

Julien.

Due to architecural limitations, bgcolor in bpatchers is not
currently supported. You will want to use another object like panel
in the background.
