Bug Report w/ example : Clippings don't like "&" character

    Oct 05 2006 | 4:50 am
    1. Unzip the two patches in your "clippings" folder... they (the patches) are identical in every respect but name.
    2. Paste in "variables_send_list.pat", should work fine.
3.Now try pasting in [via clipping] "variables&send&list.pat"... Max crashes.
Seems like the clippings menu doesn't like any patch that has an "&" symbol in it. Who knows what else there might be. On wMax 4.5.7.

Interesting, and XP users want to try. I am on XP.

Can someone on XP please try this out for me? I've tested it on 2 computers using 4.5.7 and would like someone from the community to give it a whirl. 3 minute project, tops!

Isn't ampersand a reserved character on MS-DOS based file systems?
I can never remember the entire list of reserved chars on MS-DOS/Windows, so I could be wrong. MFS/HFS/HFS+ have as many reserved characters as I can handle.
But I suspect the workaround for your problem is not to use ampersands. This is not my favorite kind of workaround, but it may be the only kind.
