Calling all those who make experimental music or software/effects......

Hi ,
I am running an experimental music show for a radio station called Soundart FM based in Cornwall/Devon in the UK. Its a local FM radio but also broadcasts online. Im looking to do a little demonstration of free experimental audio software every week (its non profit radio so freeware is better)as well as play music/noise . The idea is to promote grassroots experimental music and software.
If you have anything you'd like to be demonstrated on the show then please email me at gustard33@gmail.com or post it on this thread. If you have anything that works as a VST plugin then then that would be good for those listeners that dont use max - but patches that only run on max are also welcome.
I am also looking for submissions to play on the show , you can do this by emailing me a link, posting a link on this thread or submitting music to the "Through the looking glass" souncloud group :

the description there should give you an idea of what the show is all about and what sort of sounds it is aimed at.
The show got some really positive publicity in the Guardian last week :

so it should have at least a few listeners. You can find the show every Thursday 7-8pm by clicking this link and then "listen live" :

cheers,
Gus

if you are looking for open source, experimental music generatrors, try looking at ixi-software.
http://www.ixi-software.net/
its free, and should be a part of your radio-cast, for the listeners without max/msp, and other costly progs, at hand.
Pure data, is free as well, and i think thats more likely to find in this forum. as its almost like max/msp. only not that user friendly.
i have used some 'ixi-software' and 'max for live', combined with 'ableton live', in my music.
listen to my music here, if you like:-

Thanks - thats exactly the sort of stuff Im looking for ! I will be playing some of that next week for sure.
I have Linux on my PC and have tried to use pure data thinking it would be just the same as max but its a wee bit different I think.

that's good to hear.
thanks for the compliment on my track.

btw, i think ixi-software is for mac and win only.
i am not an experienced linux user, nor pure data, and i am totally new to max. but i believe we can write shakespeare with a drilling machine. hope is not lost, after all

Yes indeed - or Josef Conrad with a tree and a microphone.
Anyway I should have added anyone who wants to send stuff in, have a listen to a show first like this one :

then you'll get an idea of what sort fo stuff the show is about and whetehr its suitable for your material.
cheers,
Gus

Hi Gus,

Not sure if you got the email I sent so I'm posting here. I completed a project last year which was based in Max and allowed users to create their own unique sonic journey through central London using the tube map as an interface. The idea was that people would use the software and record their journey to keep. If you wanted to play some of the work I could send you a couple of journeys I have made using it or you could download the patch and create your own journeys with it to play. I made a dedicated webpage for the project which can be found at www.kalou.co.uk/tube.html. You can download the patch from that page.

The other work I thought you might be interested in playing on your radio show is a piece called BUSK. I composed this 5 minute piece of music using only recordings I made of various Buskers (street performers) around London. I cut the recordings into smaller samples, pitched and eq'ed them and then composed the piece using an MPC sampler. The visuals are generated automatically as I liked each audio sample to it's video equivalent via MIDI. Here is a link to the 'BUSK' piece http://vimeo.com/11429509 Again if your interested in playing this work on the radio I'd be happy to send you an mp3 or WAV file of just the music. There is a dedicated page for BUSK as well here: www.kalou.co.uk/busk.html

Hope some of this is of interest to you. I'll try and check out the show on Thursday.

Cheers
