I'm writing a testing / tracing framework for some M4L devices, and I would like to display as much information as possible about all the max objects in my devices. It would be great to include the assist information of the inlets and outlets... is this possible (preferably from js) ?

Thats strange, I just asked a similar question. I was told the hover object provides access to the annotations. If you copy the comment to the annotation, it would work for you.

I found a totally different solution for my problem: a js that reads in the .maxpat file, and uses Dict to parse and search the inlets and outlets "comment" texts. these contain the info which is shown on moving the mouse over inlet / outlet. Just hoping the maxpat file format will not change to frequently.
