Can I reset what is in the file browser to the defaults?

I added a big sample library to the browser, but now seem to have no way of browsing it by location. I think the way round this is adding stuff as collections, in groups. But now I just need to undo what I've added. Selecting it and removing it that way is going to take forever. Any ideas?

@Mark Durham
Adding a folder to the file browser also creates an entry in the Options->File Preferences menu and you can remove it from the Search Path from there. If you added single files you'll have to remove them by their own using the browser. For more control while managing Search Path files using collections/bookmarks the 'Advanced Search' syntax described on the File Browser homepage should be of help. F.e. you could use the "path:" syntax for searching for files by location.

Thanks for your response. Strange thing is that the files are not in the search path, but Max will not let me remove them from the file browser as it thinks they are??

See the image attached. That top one selected is the one I tried to delete.

Hey Mark,
if this problem still persists after restarting Max please try rebuilding your database by sending the db.reset message as described in the 'Controlling Max with Messages' guide in the documentation

Thanks, Florian

That's done the trick, thanks Florian. I just tried adding some subfolders and they're showing up in the file browser, so it should be good now.
