capture image in real-time
Hello,
I'm new in video and I wondered if it is possible to do something with maxMSP.
I would like to capture some images (photo) with motion detection (from a webcam or DV camera for example) each 5 seconds. And I wish to manipulate (scale, rotate...) each image separetly on a layer and keep them one by one visible on the screen. I tried to do it with VJ software, but I didn't manage.
I'm very bad in englih, I hope you understand what I mean.
thanks

It is possible, but with Max/MSP/Jitter (Max/MSP is almost only for
sound - Jitter is for video).
There is a forum/list dedicated to Jitter questions, just check
cycling74's web site.
If you never used Max/MSP/Jitter before, you can download the demo,
which will work during 1 month. One month is probably enough to get the
result you want. Learning Max is not that easy, but the tutorials
provided with the demo are great!
Good luck, bonne chance.

Yes it is possible, even advisable, to use Max, but you'll need Jitter too.
If you're totally new to max/msp/jitter, try basic tutorials first, and
after that you could download computer-vision collection of objects from
http://www.iamas.ac.jp/~jovan02/cv/download.html if you happen to need more
complex motion detection.
After that it should be fairly easy to build your personal video beast. but
keep in mind that it'll want to grow, grow, grow....
best,
nesa
thank you to give me some hope!
I'll go in the jitter section.
merci encore.
