I've got a handful of patches that use messages to fade between two numerical points with two messages - would it be possible to change the contents of that message with a bang and a float or something? I'd love to add that kind of randomization into these.

I see no green section. Perhaps upload only the relevant part?

But, if I'm to guess that it's the part where you have the pack and line objects, how about just generating whatever value you want and sending it to line?
