clicking in jit.pwindow only causes an output when patch is in foreground

Clicking on other interface objects like number or live.dial works whether a patcher is the active foreground window( or is the active M4L device) or in the background (or is a non-active M4L device). But jit.pwindow only gives an output when clicked if the patcher or device is the one currently active. It frustrating because it means I have to click twice to get output from a non active device/window, so it works differently to the rest of my interface, breaking workflow.

Is there a way to remedy this, or a workaround? Or is there some logic to this problem?
