Connecting Guitar Hero Drums to Max - please help!
I'm trying to connect a Guitar Hero drum kit to Max to make a sample player kit with effects etc, it's for a Uni project. I was going to use the MIDI port on the kit, but it's an input and there is no output. Does anyone know how to connect the kit to my PC wirelessly? I know it can be done but I can't find out how.
I'd appreciate any advice even if you don't have the exact answer, I'm new to Max.
Thanks
I think you must be using a different kit from me, so this probably doesn't help, but... I have the Band Hero PS3 drum kit which has no MIDI port, but it comes with a USB dongle which simply allows you to read the drum kit wirelessly using the HI object in Max (on a Mac anyway).
I'm guessing you have the Wii one which probably uses bluetooth. Possibly you could read it with one of the wii max objects (search wii on maxobjects.com), but most of the ones I know are Mac based. Maybe GlovePie will help you? Sure I've seen this on the forums before, have a good look around or just Google GlovePie and Band Hero or sumint?
Thanks for your help! I actually have the Xbox 360 kit, and it comes with no dongle supplied. The manufacturer used to send out a cable for people who were having sensitivity issues, I asked for one but every unit sold is out of warranty now, so they're not falling for it...
Does your kit use bluetooth or WiFi, or something else altogether? I suppose it's likely to be the same system as mine.
Not really sure, just found this link, might help:
