I hope this saves at least one pour soul from the issues I was facing

Hello, I have a re-creatable issue with my M4L that is absolutely crippling to my workflow and renders all devices virtually unusable. When I load Ableton (Stock template) and add any M4L Device, I have absolutely zero issues; however, anytime I load an existing project file I want to continue working on, all of my M4L patches load up, maintain their routing, etc.. but the IU does not update in real time, and all of the major IU elements (such as routing) are VISUALLY reset to their stock profile, even though I can tell via audio playback that they are still routed properly.

My workaround has been to blindly adjust parameters, click away from the channel that the device is on, and return to it to have the UI updated. This happens with stock M4L devices, and also with any 3rd party device I have installed on my own. To reiterate, this ONLY happens when loading an existing project (no matter how new or old) and appears to be entirely a visual problem.

As it turns out, a random unrelated forum post prompted me to try something new. Let me say, I tried EVERYTHING from making sure every file had proper authorization to resetting monitor refresh rates, reinstalling every component of Live & Max, including the registry entries, etc..

What I found is that it MIGHT be an index issue with Live. I noticed the eternally spinning wheel in the "places" section where Live is indexing my files (which is normal for me, I have a few large banks of samples, midi, racks, etc..). By complete luck, I decided to open a blank project, take a preset of a max device (native or 3rd party, didn't matter) and simply save a new preset of it in the same folder. I have been able to 100% solve the issue that way, just by simply saving a random preset in my directory (via click and dragging literally any device into my personal "racks/devices" folder. Slightly redundant procedure when I start live, but a small price to pay to have all of my M4L devices working.

I hope this helps someone one day, this technique didn't exist anywhere online.
