Controlling Freq With Knob - How to Scale to Logarithmically?

ComfortableInClouds's icon

If I am controlling the frequency of a filter with a knob, how can i get it so that I am not turning the knob a thousand times for the high frequency and just a little bit for the low frequency, but rather a uniform perceived amount for all of the spectrum of hearing?

i know it deals with log base 2, but that's about it. can anyone help me out?

Over and above mtof, there are more flexible mappings available with lp.scampf. The bundled object scale is another alternative, but not quite as flexible.

Lp.scampf is part of the Litter Starter Pack. URI below.
