i've been trying to make a conways game of life from scratch, and i think i'm almost there....! it would be awesome if someone would take a look at this patch and see maybe what the hell i am doing wrong!! pointers are very welcome too.

the patch looks strange in maxv.5, maybe because i'm using custom matrix-cell png's. its supposed to be 8x8 matrixes.
