How does MSP distribute DSP processing on a dual G5? And the same question if anyone knows about the Native Instrument player for Garritan Personal Orchestra. Cheers, Gary Lee Nelson TIMARA Department Oberlin College www.timara.oberlin.edu/GaryLeeNelson

There was a bunch of discussion on this when the duals first arrived. It should be in the archives if you can work out a funky search query.
What I recall is that Max/MSP/Jitter didn't actively support multi- processors, but that *threads* could find themselves distributed between processors. So (if my memory isn't too far off), you might find your MSP thread on one processor and the scheduler, etc. loaded off on the other one.
Don't take my word for it. Try something like "dual processor threads msp OR jitter joshua-kit-clayton site:synthesisters.com" in Google. Or forum search for the year when the first DPs arrived.
