creating a halftone photoshop effect
Hi all, I was wondering how one would go about creating
a halftone look in Jitter.
What object would you suggest.
jit.gl.pix
jit.gl.slab
I just don't know enough about the process to know.
some sort of downsampling
any tips would be greatly appreciated
thanks
I did just find jit.roy but I can't get it as clean as
the one I posted. Even when using the c74strip.pct

Any other suggestions ?
thanks
have u checkd the auvi objects _?
Hey thank META have not tries auvi. I can't.
downloaded it from
http://auv-i.com/ 's download tab.
I ran the installer and nothing. I can't see or find anything other than
an auvi.logo.pct
I'm on OSX-10.9.5
would that be the case.
If so, may I ask if it would be possible for you to the object(s) that you
think would be needed to built a correct halftone. I managed to tweak jit.roy to get something
semi descent yesterday but man the CPU was through the roof.
I would need to try to rebuilt in jit.gl.pix
Let me know for the object.
Endless thanks META

you might find some inspiration for Jitter Recipe 38 - Bright Lights.
NB, this patch was written back in the max 5 days, so requires on tweak to get working. open up the pieces_parts subpatcher, and add @depth_enable 0 to the jit.gl.mesh.
if you need more performance, you could use
jit.gl.imageunit with the "dot screen" effect.
it renders on the gpu not cpu, which is much faster.
Thanks a lot guys,
I 'll try your suggestions and let you know.
I've stop using jit.gl.imageunit a little while back when I read this post from vade.
https://cycling74.com/forums/jit-gl-mesh-then-gaussian-blur-over-it-using-jit-gl-imageunit/
so that's why I mentioned slab and jit.gl.pix in my original post.
Thanks a lot y'all

Voilà, thanks to you guys
The final choice is the jit.gl.imageunit dot screen. Even though I mentioned why I don't usually use it in the last post. Tweaking with the params I got something very very close the image posted in the original post :-)
Mind you, I believe recipe 38 to be very nice and will definitively keep as reference.
Thanks for the @depth_enable 0 Rob, wouldn't of got that one right away.
Thanks all :-)
