csound~ vs. csound~
Hey all,
I am thinking of using Matt Ingall's csound~ object in a patch. The Csound file will be synth using the GUI capabilities of MacCsound.
Anyway, in trying to work through this I came across Davis Pyron's external, csound~.
What are your opinions on the differences between these two objects?
Gracias.
Riccardo and Jean-Michel,
Would you guys be willing to share your patches so I can see how you have used it?
Matt Ingalls examples seem to work with the newer csound~. You can still
find them on Matt's page I think.

The downloads are not available at csounds.com. Not sure why not but I haven't been able to get them. Is there another site?
You guys rock!
Thanks.
:D
Another question.
If I build a collective using csound~ (either one) do I need to make sure I also include that version of MacCsound or Csound5 when I give it to a performer OR does the collective essentially include the Csound program with it?
I ask this as I am not sure how csound~ works, i.e. does it interface with Csound or does it contain the program itself and it runs inside Max (kinda like a VST maybe.)
Thanks.
With my external, the target system needs a proper Csound5 installation; Csound5 will not be included in your collective. Also, be sure to package requisite csd/orc/sco files with your collective.
With Matt Ingalls' external, the target system need CsoundLibX (instead of Csound5).
Happy Maxing/Csounding,
