[cycle] confusion

consistently output in ascending (or descending) order from left to right?

Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.
The int in the left inlet of uzi sets the number of bangs AND bangs it. Convert the int to bang before passing it to the left inlet of uzi. Also, you can use a second argument to uzi to set its starting count number, thus removing the need for the -1 object.
