cycling 74 folder in Library/application support
I have duplicated folders (externals, init, java, ... ) :
- in the Applications/MaxMSP 4.6/Cycling' 74
- in the Library/application support/C74 Plug-in Support
which must be the only one to keep
jitter-externals for example are not in the Library/... one
may it explain my Max 4.6 crahes when I try to launch simple openGL examples like jit.p.shiva
my config (can be seen in detail in the crash.log attached ):
PPC bi-pro G5 , 3 GRam , Max version 4.6.2 , Jitter 1.6.2
If you are only using Max 4.6, then yes, remove the /Library/
Application Support/Cycling '74/ folder. The crashlog indicates that
an old (Max 4.5.x) version of pak is being loaded in preference to
the one in the /Applications/Max 4.6/Cycling '74/ folder.

thanks Jeremy for help,
I removed the folder /Library/Application Support/Cycling '74/
it still crashes :-(
here attached the new log file, I don't know really how to understand it ... sorry ; can you see if old verions pack is still loaded ?
I don't yet but I plan to .
Do you mean Java is not corectly installed on my mac ?
How can I fix all that ?
thanks
Yes, you still have an old version of "pak" on your hard drive. Just
do a search for "pak" and I'm sure you'll turn it up.

OK, thanks Jeremy,
a "pak" was in a /pluggo support/Mode_externs folder
Removing that file from there seems to resolve the crash problem.
Is there any other known old-version externals that may produce crash ? that could be good to know for a deeper cleaning ?
thanks a lot
