dac~ snap, crackle & pop

has anyone else been getting intermittent pops and clicks with the
dac~ object?

I'm using a USB iMic audio I/O but haven't tested the problem with my
Firebox

it happens mostly while playing back a soundfile of filtered noise I
created which has a good amount of low freq information in it
the pops and clicks are not in the filtered noise soundfile
it sounds more like dropouts than clipping distortion

I put 2 dcblock~ objects after sfplay~ but doesn't seem to make a
difference

there are no pops or clicks when rendering to a soundfile on disc

which leads me to believe it might be a driver or Core Audio issue?

also, I've tried 512 and 1024 for I/O Vector and Signal Vector - both
settings make no difference...

OS X 10.4.8
G4 PB 1.67GHz

Pluggo 3.6.0

I think they are missing from the 4.6 distro -- someone @ Cycling
should double check this?
