Dante Virtual Soundcard vs MaxMsp.

Hi,
anyone having experience with dante virtual soundcard vs max or osx 10.8.5 or further on?
Running dante from my laptop into a soundcraft Vi6.
I guess it dont have anything to do w max, but I am experiencing a lot more clicks with max than e.g. Ableton. Seems like a clock prob, but everything indicates its ok.
It is really annoying.

Suggestions?

Hi Sverga,
I'm having similar issues.
It's an old thread, but did you ever resolve the problem?

Similar issue here, and I'm a bit concerned.
For comparison, PureData and DAWs work just fine, it's just Max!

Any idea or help? Seems like a clock issue, even click-sounds are blurred...

The only time I had a chance to use Dante (2 years ago…), it worked well with 16 channels sent from Max to a Yamaha Dante system thru the virtual sound card during 40 minutes (no inputs).
But during my preliminary tests, I had problem playing movies with Jitter when the virtual sound card was set as output!

Were those problems above and beyond what you'd have seen in any case where you were running Jitter with Overdrive on (which is precisely what you should do if you're working with audio that's crucial)?

Well, it was 2 years ago… but I 'm quite sure I tested with and without overdrive.
If I have a chance to test again soon, I'll write back to this thread (in the meantime, the virtual sound card has been updated, maybe it helped somehow).

Just to follow up on my own issues:
I think that Max using the Dante Via driver specifically (but maybe also Dante Virtual Soundcard to a lesser extent?) can be quite CPU heavy: the clicks seemed to be caused by CPU hitting 100%, but for very short instances of a few milliseconds. it was only when I set CPU limit to 100 in the dac window, so the indicator would turn red for a while, that I noticed the CPU peaks. (Otherwise, CPU appeared to remain between 20-40% )

I had been using Dante Via software, (which allows more complicated routing with multiple computers, and integrating non-dante hardware into a Dante system), but after switching out my non-dante enabled component with a dante one, I used Dante Virtual Soundcard instead, and my problem disappeared. Hope this helps somebody.
