Default font and font size in m4l patches
I would like to set the default font type and size for any new Object I am going make in a amxd patch. I know I can change it every time I create a patch for future Objects by editing in the Patcher Inspector but I want to set this once and for all. On my system here its Arial 13 reg in max Patches and Arial bold 10 in amxd which I don't like too much used with my screen Resolution. Any Ideas? Or can this be scripted? Or can I find and change the new max Instrument patches created by live somewhere?

As far as I remember this is not possible, just like default colors in Mm4L.
The idea is that you use live.color to adapt your device colors to the theme

the worst part is not being able to set the grid spacing.
I believe it ought to be possible to replace the default mfl patch, but I forget what the official response to that was.
It clearly gets asked alot, and it's kind of frustrating to set max preferences that are blatantly ignored because - of course - the mfl device isn't a "new patch", it's a preset... a near-empty annoying one.
on mac it is:
Live > Contents > App-Resources > Misc > Max Devices.
...i would not recommend it for noobs though.

I thought it was possible, but it doesn't look like you can open the patches at the path you gave on a Mac. When I try to open them, Max comes to the front but nothing opens.
Have you done this yourself?
right-click on the 'Live' app and choose 'show package contents'.
...i would not recommend it for noobs though.
it works fine for Grid and Font but i can't change the unlocked background's color.

@pid: Yes, I already opened Live.app and found the files, etc. When I right click them and select Open with Max, Max comes to the front but nothing opens. Anyone else have this issue?

@Olivier: what versions of Live/Max are you using?

they are max for live devices not Max patcher, hence the extensions .amxd
you have to open them in Live, edit them,change the default font via properties panel ( right click in the device bakground).
btw, I use Max 5.1.8 and Live Beta 8.2.2b3

Thanks Olivier & pid, I opened them via Live (which opens them in Max - which is where the confusion was), then just saved them to my desktop and replaced them in Live.app. Works great now.
One strange thing is, I changed the background colours (locked and unlocked) of all of them
but only one of the three kept it's locked colour. A little odd.
How did you get Max 5.1.8? Also, is the Live 8.2.2 beta pretty stable?
you get max 518 when you update live beta, the link is beside.
I can't tell for stability as I only ran a few tests with it so fare, I guess it is ok.
