I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the 'define fixed initial window location' in the view menu disappearing?  I have been using it with a patch for the many patcher windows I have, but now it's disappeared!  Very odd, and not sure why.  Can anyone advise on why this might be the case?

Do I need to change to 9 to get this feature back?

If / when we do a Max 8.6.6 update, this fix will likely be included.

Does anyone know a good workaround for this by any chance - possibly using [thispatcher]? I have been playing around with it but found it rather fiddly and quite frustrating.

I assume a Max 8.6.6 update is not going to be a priority anytime soon...

I thought I was the only one struggling with the missing “define fixed initial window location” option in Max 8! It used to be super handy for managing patch layouts, especially when juggling multiple monitors. Now I’m manually resizing and repositioning windows every time—total productivity killer. I hope Cycling '74 brings it back or at least offers a workaround. Honestly, I spend more time adjusting windows than working on actual patches... and that’s time I should be using on real tasks like sound design—or even 

 if I'm on the clock. Anyone found a solid fix or workaround yet?

it is not too difficult to open thispatcher help file and look into window messages.
