Device border (UI design problem)
Hi folks:)
I searched the forums and google, but no luck so far.
I am having trouble with the border that appears when my device is loaded in Ableton. Its 4 pixels thick on the left, the bottom and an exorbitant 24 pixels wide on the right. I attached a screen shot. The locked background is green and I created a panel in black, that extends beyond the limits of the max for live device. Unfortunately, as you can see, it does not cover all the background of my device.
I mean, this is a problem purely aesthetically motivated, yeah, but it would be nice if I could get rid of this border or somehow cover parts of the background that I want in a different color, just so I can better segment parts of my device.
Also, I can see how the 4px border left and bottom is there because of the rounded edge in Live, but why do I need to have 24px padding on the right?? From a device design, this is a huge annoyance!
Thanks for any help:)
In case anyone else was wondering about this, at least I found a solution for the large border on the right:
In the patcher inspector (cmd+shift+i) you can find a field called "Fixed Initial Window Location". Here, enter the desired horizontal size as your third value of the list (default at 0, most likely). This will get rid of the larger border on the right, making all borders left, bottom and right the same tiny size.
Still, if anyone has an idea how the extend an object beyond those borders, that would be great!
Cheers!
View - Set_Device_Width....

@S4RACEN Its obviously not that simple ffs
I've clicked View - Set_Device_Width a hundered million times with the window size at various sizes, I've tried selecting an object then doing View - Set_Device_Width, I've tried sending a message to thisdevice, I've tried fcking everything.
Absolutely fcking nothing makes my m4l device wider than the smallest possible rectangle.
