Different Sound files playing at once

I have a main patch which has a subatches with lot of sound files. The sound files are each preloaded, connected to a sfplay object which is connected to Exdac object so that each chosen sound file by the user can be heard.

I have three subpatches, the first totaling around 50 sound files, the second and the third around 35-40...

The problem is with the second subpatch the most. Namely, it does not play the last sound file, it continues to play. to finish the previous elected sound file which is from the other patch. Than it also happens that two, or three sound files are heard at the same time, and the chosen sound file is not played.

I don't quite know what is the problem since they all have the same function, to play the chose sound files therefore they are connected the same way.

Please give me an answer and let me know if I you need more explanation,
Kate

It is quite hard to imagine what the problem might be without seeing a patch, but you might benefit from using sflist~, otherwise you might look at using groove~ if your sound files aren't too long.

Well, the sound files are quite long, about 2, 3 min. I was thinking maybe to divide the sound files into more subpatchers, so that one subpatch does not have 40, 50 but 20 the most.

Do you think that would reoslve the problem?

I think there is a limit on the number of preloads which you can have, not entirely sure, but I think I have come across this before. However, it would be considerably easier if you posted the patch so we could take a look...
