Difficulty saving a textfile with text object

Hi all,

I'm having difficulty saving a textfile with a text object using the 'write filename.txt' command. Not something I do often, but I'm sure I've done it before. I feel like this is in sort of sanity check territory - could someone look at this and check I'm not making some silly mistake (I probably am!)

Here's a very simple patch illustrating this.

Max Patch
Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.

UPDATE:
I have a workaround for now, but it also raises more questions re the text object.
Converting it into the jit.textfile object, and saving it through that does work as expected.
See below patch for a demonstration. This leads to to believe this could be a bug with the text object.

Max Patch
Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.

Before saving a patcher and reopenning it,
write message without absoloute path is allways a gamble.
It allways gets written, but god knows where.
see this funny example

I used you patch, saved it into new created folder and sent write message.
It landed on different HD, straight into msp help folder inside of Max.app
After closing and reopenning of the patch it works as expected

Hi. Thanks for your reply. I’ll make an absolute path, and I suspect that what I did before.

Having said that, it was only for the example on the forum that I was doing an unsaved file etc, and I get this behaviour regardless of whether I’ve saved and reopened and closed etc. For that reason I’m still wondering whether this is a bug or a possible regression introduced at some point.

I did previously have a look in the max search path (and through spotlight too) for the saved files being somewhere random and couldn’t find them.
