digest not working
Hello all
I like to change my subscription to the MAX/Jitter mailing lists to
digest mode, but I get the message :
'The list administrator has disabled digest delivery for this list,
so your delivery option has not been set. However your other options
have been set successfully'.
Is there a way to receive digest instead of all the mails
individually ? (I have send a message to the help desk, but was
bounced back)
Sorry if this has been asked before
Thanks, Stan
No, it's very very sad but... no :-(
There is no digest version. Unfortunately, mailman's interface does not disable the digest option in the user page when it is disabled administratively. Please read the sticky post "Important changes to the Max list" at the top of the MaxMSP forum and also see Andrew Pask's reply to a question about digests here:

Actually, it was in the HTML, and has been commented out (don't think there's much in the way of PHP happening with the mailman software). Thanks for pointing that out, John, I haven't had much time to muck around with Mailman, and I thought for sure it was in the options binary.
I would have thought that the message the user receives when trying to set the digest option would have been enough ("the administrator has disabled the digest option for this list"), but I guess people don't always read web pages when they're interacting with them.
For some reason, I think people will still fail to understand that there is no digest option.
