Display MIDI note without the number? e.g 'C' rather than 'C4'?

Hi Guys in the patch below I would like to be able to display the notes of the scale without C3 C4 C5 etc?

Any Ideas welcome!

hi oli,
just a quick stuff using coll. you can choose different scales.
to add chord symbols can be done with other coll objects for wvwry kind of scale.

ps : i had to add a [route] after the coll objects 'cause recalling the data gave me " symbol C", "symbol D" etc.

Here's another approach using zl - this should work for any subset of 12-tone scale regardless of length.

I was about to propose this then had a look at the smarter patch by M. Muir. Voodoo ! Never had thought of emenu for this kind of tasks...

I haven't been able to get on max and check them out until now.

all of them work great, but I think Chris's method gets the nod due to its simplicity.

umenu never even crossed my mind!
