Display Sound Spectrum Help!

Hi there, I'm looking for a way to display sound spectrum information from an input source (a violin string), in such a way that it is displayed like the image below. I've found that the spectroscope~ object does not quite have the precision or clarity that I'm looking for... Perhaps you know how to display this kind of graph in max, or maybe there's a program available that will help me do this easily? Any advice would be helpful! The graphic has to go into a paper so that's why something like the below would be most suitable.
