Dotted delay time calculations
Hi there
Just a quickie:
What multiplying factor do you use for dotted delays?
At the moment I am using the following which i think are normal and triplets (I think):
.375 (1/2T is this a triplet?)
.5 (1/2)
.75 (1/4T)
1 (1/4)
1.5
2
3
4
6
8
(I then divide the milliseconds in 1 beat by this factor)
Thanks!
Toby
The time value of a dotted note extends its length by one half of its
value. Triplets are note values divided by 3, so 0.75 is not a triplet,
0.666 is.

Ok that makes perfect sense. I realise it sounds like a stupid question, but for some reason using the factors I stated above does not sound right. The regular divisions (1/4, 1/2 etc.) work fine but for some reason the dotted divisions are not perfectly in time. I'll have a better look and work something out.
Thanks for the reply
