Downloading Spout without Package Manager (on a mac, for transfer to a PC)?
Hi,
I'm wondering whether it's possible to download the Spout externals and helpfiles without the package manager? I have a PC which isn't connected to the internet which I want to use with Spout. My computer connected to the internet is a Mac. For some reason I cannot find a driect download link to Spout online - I've found a github, but it omits the helpfiles, which seem important for this (I've never used it before).
A thought which emerges from this: the package manager won't let me download Spout on the mac as it's not compatible - maybe there could be some sort of feature that allows the downloading of the binaries in the package manager as a .zip file or something, for when this eventuality happens (it's something that can happen reasonably often if you are installing Max in a gallery environment, for example)?
Thanks!
Jamie
It's not very intuitive, as there is no "Download" labeled button on the final download page, but you can do it on the official site:
http://spout.zeal.co/download-software/
Just click on the Spout icon and on "Donate" or "No thanks".
Thanks for this, but from what I can tell the file which that links to doesn't include the .mxe and maxhelp files - are they buried in there somewhere?
Here you go: https://github.com/leadedge/Spout2/tree/master/MAX/JITTER
Thanks for that Herr Markant. I don't suppose you know where the helpfiles are?
the package manager also works in the demo versio of max 7, just install that on a machine connected to the internet.
however, in my opinion, an alternate http download link should be available in the package manager. the thing looks like a webbrower - but does nothing when you attempt to open a contextual menu :)
Jamie, if you leave your email i can send you the whole package (with all help files et cetera)
I've already sent Jamie an e-mail yesterday.
