Driving a 22 loudspeaker array
Hi,
I'm new to a Max so forgive me for the (hopefully) trivial question.
For a project I need to drive a loudspeaker array with 22 elements. I have a 24 i/o audio interface so I should be able to do it, but the Audio Status interface doesn't allow me to choose more than 2 outputs. Is there a simple way to do it?
Thanks!
Audio Status - Open I/O Mappings
Hi, thanks for taking the time to reply.
This is what I see in audio status: only two output channels and only up to 16 in the in/out mapping. What can I do to change this?

you have motu pci 424 card selected.
in I/O map you can assign max adc~ (input) ar dac~(output) channels
to available hardware connections.
what yous see in menus depends on your card configuration.
what interface or interfaces are connected to 424 ?
and what is motu console setup set to ?
if you for example have 2408mk3, you have only 8 analog, 2 phones and 2 main outs, total 12
possible analog outputs. or use adat converters ...
then you need to set them in I/O map.
if you have 24 I/O motu interface, then all 24 will show up.
click on channel group menu to view - set next group of 16 channels

I've written a Matlab script that is perfectly capable to drive all the loudspeakers independently, so I know the setup works well. The driver interface shows all 24 i/o channels and all are toggled, so I can't understand why I cannot choose 24 outputs.

So you're right, all 24 show up but I still have only 2 output channels. I can hear something coming out only from the channels specified in "output channels", which is again only two.
what can you set in max I/O map and groups of 16 menus ?
if you don't mess anything,
max auto assigns all inputs and outputs to coressponding hardware
connectors.
but maybe MOTU windows asio driver is not working ok ?
