Duck Signal

Hi guys : )
How can I duck a signal in max msp?

I have two signals: original (dry) and reverbed (wet).
Specificly I want use the sidechain dry signal to duck the reverbed one.

Thanks : )

ducking a signal is quite similar to signaling a duck. 🦆

but if you already know that ducking a reverb or delay is done the same way than using a key input in a dynamics gate, you are almost there: you have to measure peak or power of the sidechain signal (using peakamp~, avg~, average~ and/or slide~ and rampsmooth~) and then you use this as control signal to control the gate (well, basically the amplitude) of the wet effect signal.

i want sure about the correct semantic meaning and so i looked it up using google and after i did i still was not sure.
in german there is a verb for "giving signals", but "signaling" does not translate to deutsch as a verb. strange enough, it correctly translates the other way round.
so now it is only funny because i am stupid, but that´s better than nothing.

maybe you can show him where the compressor tutorial patch is, i have no idea, but i have heard there is one.

yep, this.

^i've just successfully proved: Roman and I can do more than just spread misinformation all over these forums, we can also read the docs XD
