Duplicating one parameter to multiple MIDI controls
I'm looking for a way to map one parameter in ableton (i.e. the volume control) to 3 different MIDI controls (3 buttons, to be specific). any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you!
Here's the simplest way
Depending on how you want the buttons to work together, you'll likely have to do a bit more, but this could get you started.
If you didn't want to MIDI map you could make a MIDI effect, and use the [sel] or [route] object to look for particular MIDI data.
Thank you for your response! I got it pasted into max, and i'm looking at your device - how do I save it as a patch that ableton can read? I know approximately nothing about max for live or programming.
Ah, you need to open the default Max Audio Effect (or Max MIDI Effect) from Live's browser, paste in the code, and then save it.
I'm trying to do the same thing and am also new to Max, confused about how to do this, Can you please help?
First, it seems like Evan provided instructions that contradict? In his message, it says "IN MAX, SELECT NEW FROM CLIPBOARD." But then the next message says, "you need to open the default Max Audio Effect (or Max MIDI Effect) from Live's browser, paste in the code, and then save it."
Do i need to open the effect Max Audio Effect, Max MIDI Effect, or open a New from Clipboard?
I tried each of these options but was not sure where to paste it in the first 2 options. When i tried New from Clipboard, It showed a device (shown below), but i could not figure out how to map and assign the midi functions/controllers. Is there a tutorial or anything that walks through this process?

Also, has any of this info/process changed since Live 10 incorporates Max more closely?
I too need a device like this and am more than willing to donate. Also, just like Daniel, I was unable to midi map to the mappable boxes in your device and I have many of the same questions he has. Are there resources out there to help me? Youtube hasn't been that helpful...
